With supervisor approval, incumbents may be eligible for intermittent remote work; however, they must physically reside within the Sacramento region or have the ability to regularly report to a City of Sacramento physical worksite with little notice.


The City of Sacramento Human Resources Department is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Administrative Technician to support the Labor Relations Division. This  position plays a key role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of labor relations processes and documentation. The Administrative Technician provides administrative support, including research, data compilations, record keeping, and high-level clerical functions related to labor agreements, employee relations matters, and regulatory compliance.

The ideal candidate will be a proactive and organized individual who demonstrates a strong sense of responsibility, confidentiality, and commitment to customer service. They will be skilled in managing detailed administrative tasks, comfortable working with data and reports, and have the ability to interpret and apply policies, labor agreements; and regulations with accuracy. A successful candidate will be able to take initiative, manage multiple priorities, and maintain effective working relationships with staff at all levels. Strong command of the Microsoft Office suite, with heavy focus on Word and Excel preferred.  The ability to learn the City’s proprietary software and electronic document filing systems is required. 

Under general supervision, the Administrative Technician performs a variety of technical and paraprofessional duties in support of centralized procurement, personnel, budget and administrative functions or in support of projects or programs; assists administrative and analytical personnel in researching, compiling and reviewing information; develops and maintains databases and spreadsheets.
